We fund academic doctoral scholarships, postdoctoral fellowships, and research grants.

Founded in 1979, the Foundation for Physical Therapy Research is the research funding organization for the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). As the only national nonprofit focused exclusively on advancing physical therapy through research, our sole purpose is to fund physical therapy research and support the development of future physical therapy researchers.

Through the generosity of our donors, our investments support a sustainable pipeline of highly skilled physical therapy researchers who generate evidence demonstrating the value and effectiveness of physical therapy interventions that can be accessible to all who need them.
